Carol has been a Community Services Coordinator with New Castle County since 2003. She has worked with Sports and Athletics, Recreation Centers, the Absalom Jones Senior Center, the Art Studio, and the Safety Town program. She has assisted with planning for special events such as the Hockessin Art and Book Fair, and Anime Day at the Art Studio. Previously, she was a museum educator at Rockwood Museum and the South Carolina State Museum. She has served on the DRPS board as President and Past President.

Jackie began working with Delaware State Parks as a Delaware Conservation Corps member in 1994 and 1995, turning that experience into a two-year stint as a Historical Interpreter at Fort Delaware State Park prior to leaving for college. After teaching agricultural sciences for more than 16 years in Delaware public schools, Jackie returned to Parks as a Manager of Volunteers and Interns, Administrative Specialist, and now Assistant Park Superintendent with Alapocas Run and Wilmington State Parks. She has served as the Treasurer for multiple non-profit organizations over the past 20 years, has been a mentor with the University of Delaware’s Career Mentoring Program, and has been a foster kitten caregiver with Faithful Friends Animal Society for 6 years.

Nichole is the Youth and Families Program Administrator for the City of Wilmington, Department of Parks and Recreation. She has been with the city now for over 27 years and enjoys working with youth, families and the community. She is a past At Large Board Member and has been a member of DRPS for several years.

Mat began his career in Delaware State Parks as a maintenance technician at Wilmington State Parks in 2016. He worked as a seasonal assistant park superintendent for three years at Brandywine Creek State Park until gaining a merit position as a conservation technician at that park. In 2023 Mat was promoted to Grounds Maintenance Supervisor at Wilmington & Alapocas Run State Parks, and then promoted to the Park Superintendent position at Brandywine Creek State Park in 2024. Mat has served on the Delaware Greenways and Byways advisory groups where change was made possible. Mat seeks to grow in his current role and continue to have a beneficial impact on parks and the patrons that enjoy them!

Sherwanda is a native of Alexandria, Louisiana and a Delawarean transplant.  She is married and has one daughter who is a Graduate Student at Goldey Beacom College and plays soccer and basketball.  “I’ve been employed with the City of Dover for 27 years where I continue to collaborate with local, state and federal agencies to meet the growing needs of our community.  I serve on various boards and committees for civic and social organizations.  I enjoy working with youth and families where I can make a difference in their lives.  I love the outdoors, cooking and spending time with family.”
